Guilio Marcolongo lives in Wonthaggi, Victoria, and has only been turning since 1995.
Guilio "turned" to wood after spending much time away from his family on his commercial fishing boat. Guilio has now progressed from selling his work at craft markets to making work for galleries and commissioned works for collectors. He has shown how he makes scallop footed boxes, natural edged burl platters, vacuum chucking for hollow forms, and spoon/ladle turning methods. Guilio says he has been very lucky to have worked with some fine turners who have shared their knowledge freely, and now finds it most rewarding to be able to show off his knowledge to others.
