Elsa Thorp is a South Melbourne artist passionate about nature.  After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in New Zealand she spent 7 years living and exhibiting in Europe as a fine arts photographer. Through a desire to create more “hands on” with nature she studied Certificate II & III Floristry. She merges the outdoors with indoors, creating unique Botanical Sculptures out of gathered and locally grown natural materials.   Working with clients she designs site specific pieces to order. Elsa enjoys holding workshops sharing her passion for nature and the benefits of hand making with natural materials to assist with wellbeing.

She does not buy imported flowers, instead choosing to buy what is in season and focus on supporting local Australian growers.  She loves to share the story of where the materials she creates with have come from, where she found and gathered them, meeting with the Victorian flower growers and visiting their farms. When creating her designs she only uses unaltered natural materials, nothing is chemically treated (bleached) or dyed.
